It was cool to drive into
Lexington, KY - a place where we'd never played, only to find
Spout flyers plastered everywhere. That's always a good
feeling to know the bands you're playing with and the club
you're playing at is cool and likes to promote their
artists. It's our habit to send sample promo CDs and
flyers, etc.. etc.. to the club beforehand.
Sometimes you arrive, and they didn't put a single one up.
Then you're like,.. do you have a psychic audience?
w.t.f.?
We had some of our wonderful friends from Bowling Green, OH make
the drive down to Lexington, KY and support us.
We arranged our underage merch girl, Kate, to have a booth in
the back. It was her birthday. Yet, she was still
one year shy of being old enough to get into the club, (yet
she's old enough to buy porn and die for her country?.... ok, I
won't get started here).. so the owners of the club
literally put a security team in front of her. It was
funny.
Before the show while we were eating, we get word that the sound
man had just accidentally knocked over Chad's guitar and put a
nice juicy crack in the neck of his purdy Les Paul.
Chad didn't make a scene and eventually got it repaired.
Yay. :)
The sound was great. The mix was great. The crowd
was kick ass and attentive. (Again, there was a booty
dance club in the next room.... what's with this? Club owners,
pick a genre!) We sold some merch, signed autographs
(which is always an awesome feeling in a place you've never been
before), and those of us who stayed in Lexington overnight were
in for a fun treat at the very nice Radisson suite down the
street!
Circlefour followed and did a great job.
