This experience started with wrestling belts & scratch
tracks, and ended with puke. It was fucking awesome.
Let me explain.
The week before the show, we were guests on 102.9 The Buzz for
winning the March Madness Radio Battle. They played our
song Dead Or Dying (and it got the most requests of the week..
and then again for the
entire month).....(and then the next month)... Our prize was
$10,000 and a voucher to any Vietnamese whorehouse of our
choice.
We ended up only cashing in a 99 cent belt that is
only ours until we lose.... this sucks ONLY because we'd
all bought multiple one-way tickets to Vietnam.
The night before the show, we're over at my place (Stacy, for
those of you who don't know by now who's typing this..).
We're recording basic scratch tracks for Dan to go drum to when
he starts recording the day after the show. We
end up having mucho fun spending time creating this
zany new live intro to play on the P.A. before the show.
All 4 of us were involved. It was awesome.
So as Murphy's Law would have it, after all that the CD wouldn't
work at the club... so we couldn't play it for you.
Boo-hoo :(
That's what the next show is for.
So on with this SHOW. \m/
Thaxton Ward put on a great show. They had some good ol' fashion
rock girl/girl action in the front. You just can't lose with a
show like this one, folks.
After their set, it's time to go on! Dan and Adam's first
show with us.
There's a newness about Spout that isn't just summed up or
limited to the new additions, new gear, near clothes, new
underwear, new songs... but simply the way we
all work together... The involvement from every
level... down to the way we acted before and after the
show especially towards each other. It's a true friendship
and band enthusiasm that's undeniable.
We know this night must have been a brain warp for those who
regularly come to Spout shows. We could have just thrown
in one or two new ones but we really wanted to test a bunch of
new stuff out before we went in and recorded it.
The show was fun as could be..... the audience participation in
"Poser" was massive sounding.....and the puke that came out of
Chad's mouth when he found out he'd been towed by Jesus was just
brilliant.
Yes, ol' Chizzle parked in the Church parking lot and got towed
while he was playing the show.
So I treated him to Wendy's and reminisced back to the time when
it was sooooo much fun being on stage and rocking out to such
awesome people.... ...... 2 hours earlier.
