SPOUT - Uncle Pleasant's
Louisville, KY
So we get to the club and half the bands had cancelled out or not shown
up and although we were not to go on for another hour or two, the band
that is on quits shortly after and all of a sudden we're next! So
we make sure to take advantage of the nice drink special, and we got up
there and rocked out practically no one for the first song.. then with
each song - more and more people came in .. and by the end of the set we
were covered in sweat and got to talk with many people after the show
who either wanted autographs or just simply wanted to tell us how much
they enjoyed the show. This means the world to me. I love it
when people do that. Brandon and I were talking this night about
how when we're at a concert watching another band that we enjoy, we're
just so in to it that we sit there in a calm trance-like state of mind -
not concerned with screaming or moshing or whatever that is usually
associated with "being into it". You really can be
"into it" majorly without always showing it physically.
Bands love it when you do, because it helps them so much.
But more and more I notice those who sat in the back and barely clapped,
and hardly responded during the set are many times the ones who come up
with the coolest and intense thank you's and appreciations of what we
do.
Like they say..
You can judge a book by it's centerfold...
err I mean , Cover.
or is it you can't judge a cover band by it's covers? ... wait,
hell yeah you can.
I've been accused of looking bored when I'm at another band's
concert, even when I'm having the time of my life. Strange....
