It was time for Dingofest once again.  Dingofest is an annual celebration of rockin' bands all around the famous Beale Street.  We showed up.... Jason had it out with some traffic cop who took his job way too seriously (don't they all)...

We met up with old Memphis friends, Simon, and enjoyed some awesomely overpriced food and waited to rock.

So check this out... if you read what happened in Indianapolis a few tourdiary entries ago, this will seem completely wicked to you:

We're doing our set... everything's awesome.... so now we're playing "Suicidal Idol".   Still scarred from the soundman from Indianapolis giving everyone the "Spout - Live from inside the Grand Canyon" effect..., we're ready to keep redeeming ourselves on this song. haha.   Chad comes in to sing his harmony part in the verse and I swear he's way higher pitch than he should be....we both looked at each other like "W.T.F?"
I knew #1.. either Chad developed a serious helium addiction that we'd have to discuss... or #2.  the sound guy is fucking with us!

so...the band drops out.. time for the chorus..
it's supposed to be just me and my guitar at this point...  instead... you have me and my guitar along with the three chipmunks backing me up.

Turns out. the sound man put the vocals through a pitch shifter which adds harmonies to your vocal when there is only one person singing!  So I heard myself 3 times... one like me.. one 5 notes higher than me... and one way up in chipmunk land an entire octave higher.

(hey.. we were playing with a band called Simon.. irony? - [one of the chipmunks, for those who never watched it when they were little]

oh well... things like this happen... we look back on them and cry, ..err.. I mean laugh!
but ask anyone.. they happen to us more often than not.   It keeps things very interesting to say the least! :)

Rock on!  \m/
